직접전단시험은 변위의 한계로 잔류강도를 측정이 어려우니 ring shear시험은 최대강도 잔류강도 측정이 가능합니다.

Ring Shear Apparatus (Bromhead)형은 일정하중(constant normal load) 조건으로 전단력이 발생하면 수직변위가 커저 마찰각이 작아지고 연직변위 고정형 (constant volume)은 연직변위는 고정되나 연직응력 커진다.

GDS ring shear는 연직하중(normal stress)과 회전하중(torque) acturator2개로 constant normal stressconstant volume 시험이 가능하다.

GDS Interface Shear Tester (GDSIST)

Designed to test the shear interface between a soil specimen and sample top cap. Top cap interfaces of differing  oughness or materials can be used to simulate in-situ conditions.
