SQUID provides force and displacement readings registered at the bottom of a drilled hole to quantitatively assess the cleanliness or the debris thickness of the excavation bottom (i.e. drilled hole). The construction process of drilled shafts is carried out using major drilling tools to cut through the soil and rock strata, which consequently generates some amount of soil cuttings, a portion of which could end up at the bottom of the excavation. If the wet construction method is implemented, the drilling mud (polymer-based or bentonite-based) will generate sediment which can accumulate at the bottom of the hole, which if undetected can negatively influence the performance of the foundation element.

 

천공말뚝 선단지지력 측정기(SQUID)는 천공말뚝의 하단 (말뚝선단)의 정리 상태, 슬라임 두께를 수치적으로 평가하기 위해 천공 하부에서 응력, 변위 값을 측정. 굴착 시 굴착면 하부에 슬라임이 남을 수 있고 물 주입 방법이 사용되면서 진흙 (폴리머 기반 또는 벤토나이트 기반)은 침전물을 생성하여 천공 바닥에 쌓일 수 있다. 이것이 확인되지 제거하지 않으면 기초말뚝의 성능에 부정적인 영향을 줄 수 있다.
